The Mindful Healers Podcast with Dr. Jessie Mahoney and Dr. Ni-Cheng Liang

Nov 28, 2021

Tips to mindfully approach charting or any other task you would rather not do.

We share our own struggles with charting and ways in which a task such as charting can be mindfully completed by changing how one shows up for the task.  We offer self-care as a tool to help one accomplish tasks that you would rather not do.

Charting is an opportunity to practice mindfulness: accepting, but noticing judgment about not liking, noticing any shame, frustration, self-criticism that arises, and how the task can be met with mindful awareness, compassion, and kindness.

Grounding into an intention for the task, being mindful of what one includes in the note, letting go of perfection, and setting oneself up for success can all be ways charting can be more ease-ful.

To help with showing up more mindfully, try one of Ni-Cheng’s 1-5 minute practices from her Mobile Wellness for Healthcare Professional series here
