The Mindful Healers Podcast with Dr. Jessie Mahoney and Dr. Ni-Cheng Liang

Jan 24, 2021

We take a hippocratic oath to do no harm as physicians. However, we often forget that this oath also includes doing no harm to ourselves.

In this episode, we discuss how self-compassion is key to both reaching our full potential as healers and preventing burnout.

We focus so often on not being perfect and many healers beat themselves up for small mistakes.  It turns out that this strategy and in particular- shame-  gets in the way of learning and growing from our mistakes. Changing our perspective to one where we embrace our imperfections allows us to accept ourselves and grow and develop into the best version of ourselves.  Mindfulness and self-compassion increase our curiosity and help us build better relationships with ourselves, those we love, those we work with, and those we care for.

Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a mindful moment at the end of the episode.
